Today was the day that they had chosen to meet again. Laika hadn't been ready the day of their meeting- she wanted to spend just a little more time feeling her own body and being alone in it. However, she was walking beside Hephaistos now as they delved deeper and deeper into the Silverwood. The nearly white stag had asked her many times if she was certain that she wanted to do this and, many times, she told him that she did. However, Laika’s heart was still pounding in her chest as she walked alongside the tall stag, her mind replaying the events that had happened just a couple days ago.
They'd met two Blackwoods in the heart of the Silverwood as they travelled through. Laika hadn't been alarmed and neither had Hephaistos- it seemed that they both weren't the most traditional of Silverthornes. The two Blackwoods introduced themselves as Isa and Charon- mother and son. Isa was an experienced necromancer and her son..well, Charon was special. He'd been heavily blesse

About the Reincarnation:

Tired of seeing Hephaistos suffer and knowing the only way she'll ever have his heart, Laika decided to allow her body to be used as a vessel to reincarnate Kindle after meeting two Blackwoods lurking around the outskirts of the Silverwood. Charon and Isa performed a ritual, bringing the spirit of Kindle back and sticking it into Laika's body. It took a lot of convincing, but they could see Laika's desperation. She'd given up on living life and they felt the only way to save her was to heed her wishes. They also now have Hephaistos and Laika/Kindle as their spies. They live their lives like normal, but keep any information back that would be useful to the Blackwoods until they meet again. Nobody but Hephaistos knows that Kindle is now in control of Laika's body. The herd would surely find them to be demons and who knows what they would do.. Not even Kindle's fawns know- yet. Eventually very few select people will learn of it, but the herd as whole never will. Kindle is almost always in control of the body, but every now and then Laika forces her way into control- or whenever Kindle hands it over. Kindle can hear Laika's voice in her head, nonstop. It's like sharing minds. Unfortunately there is a price to pay for the aid of the Blackwoods. Laika/Kindle and Hephaistos will be spies for Charon and Isá...


Appearance:

Build: The body that Laika and Kindle share is a slender doe, certainly built for speed rather than strength. Everything about her is long and streamline, from her neck, to her legs, to her tail. She appears to be quite fragile-looking- petite and breakable.

Horn: They bear a simple, long spiraling horn that is the same color as their mane.

Hair: They have long, creamy-colored hair that waves ever so slightly. They don't mess with it too much. It's always in place and neat, but rarely stylized.

Coat: Their coat is as golden as the sun and they're considered blessed for it within her herd. Laika is quite proud of it and is usually certain to make sure Kindle keeps it looking decent, for herself more than anyone else. They have heart-shaped creamy markings on their chest and rump. Her muzzle is the same creamy color and she has a small white spot over her eye.

Accessories: When away from the herd, they sometime wear a necklace that's made of wolf fur... when nobody is watching. Sometimes they only wear it when Laika's upset, scared, or lonely. She often misses its creator, Hagen.


Personality:

Kindle:

Somewhat Traditional/Religious/Superstitious:

Kindle was almost exactly what a Silverthorne doe should be. Traditional, religious, and superstitious. Does like she was are meant to be babymakers, nothing else besides perhaps an herbalist. It was only due to the fact that she failed to produce her own fawns that she chose to become a soldier. Anything strange, unusual, and unknown was not welcome to this doe and she was not afraid to light something on fire to test it out. She believed in all of the Gods and worships them day and night. She followed the five rule to every extent, actually to the point of obsession. Four bites of grass? Nah, better make it five. However... she was in love with a gray stag, which is not that traditional at all.. Oh well.

Kind:

Kindle was a very kind young doe with a heart as golden as the sun. She'd go out of her way to lend a helping hoof, even if it's out of power. She hated to see someone upset and would do anything in her realistic power to try and help the out. She had got a soft spot for those younger than her as well.

Hard-headed/Stubborn:

If Kindle was doing something, there was a very high chance that she was going to try her hardest to do it. However, if it was a super-serious situation and she was directly told not to by a superior she would back down, but very begrudgingly.

Sass:

It was very hard to awaken this girl's inner sass and her temper and chances were, if you treated her as you should you were never going to see it. But, if you did awaken it you'd be quite surprised to find that she did have a thing or two to say about you... and you'd never suspect it. However, if you were a stag, it was extremely unlikely that you would ever see this side of her. 

Playful/Teasing/Jabberjaws:

Kindle LOVED to play and tease with those that she'd warmed up to and made friends with. She was not the type to really crack out jokes to random strangers, but if she knew you, you weren't going to get a silent moment from her. She was constantly talking and jabbering.. If you wanted her to shut up you have to tell her to do so.

Hidden Anger Issues/Tactical/Intelligent:

Now, I bet you're wondering 'how on earth was this sweet little doe a soldier? Well, this is why. She had a great deal of anger bubbling in her veins and when in combat it all seemed to spill out. Plus, including her intelligence and her use of tactics, she could make for a surprisingly challenging foe. 

Laika:

Somewhat Confident:

Laika used to be an extremely insecure, paranoid little doe. However, with time, and now that she's hit her prime she's slowly worked her way out of this. She's grown to be a little more confident in her own skin. She now holds herself with pride rather than submission or fear. However, she's still a bit on the sensitive side and it doesn't take much to hurt her feelings, even if she won't show it.

Paranoid:

Despite her growing self-confidence Laika is still a very paranoid doe. A long time has passed since she's seen any sign of her stalker, but sometimes she still grows scared- thinking he's still lurking somewhere. She'll never be able to feel completely safe until she has a name and a face to her former stalker. Little does she know, he's a well-known figure around the herd, and he's so, so very sorry.

Bitter:

Something has changed within Laika over the years. She is beginning to grow increasingly bitter with Silverthorne and their ways. She hates the way that does are frowned upon... the way that obnoxious stags rule. She feels useless- as if her body is nothing but a vessel for a fawns. She feels she'll always be seen as nothing but a babymaker and property... It seems more often than not she's biting her tongue to keep from snapping... and she's bound to explode at some point.

Non-Spiritual:

Laika doesn't believe in the Gods. If they existed why would they do what they did? Why would they have taken her mother? Why would they have put her through all that pain and anxiety? What was their point? Laika refuses to believe in Gods who allow such horrible things to happen and allow such prejudice and bias within her kingdom.

Together:

Right now, Kindle and Laika both have their own personalities. In time, they will grow to become more alike, influencing one another. The thing that clashes the most is their belief in the Gods. Kindle believes in them- Laika is hesitant. Both does love Hephaistos deeply and Laika is rather jealous. She feels that she never would've been able to have Hephaistos if she hadn't given up her own body. The two does have a love/hate relationship with one another, but they make it work. Kindle is eternally grateful to Laika for giving her a second chance at life.

History:

Laika:

Laika was born in Silver Vale, Silverthorne. She was an only fawn, with no sisters or brothers. Her parents were mates and she wasn't the result of a fling or simple breeding. Laika grew up listening to the legends that her mother would always tell her. The little doe would take in every word, watching her mother with huge eyes. The legend that she loved the most was of the two sisters Grian and Luan, the Sun and the Moon. She believed the legend with all her heart and it simply became a fact to her that the two sisters were watching over her. The first year of the doe's life was full of legends and laughter; of racing with her best friend on the wide sloping plain of the Silver Vale. However this blissful existence didn't last for the young filly. One night, after a long day out playing with friends, Laika came home to find her mother dead, murdered by a stag she only caught a glimpse of. Both Laika and her father were devastated and her father left to seek revenge, but came home the next day empty handed.  After her mothers funeral, Laika found it hard to believe in the gods of her herd. How could the possibly be real when they hadn't protected her? Soon after her father disappeared and she was left entirely alone and still grieving for her mother. Her friends offered her safety but it was impossible to console the small filly. As the years passed she constantly felt watched, and while at first it gave her a small amount of comfort she soon found it very unsettling, especially when she found messages burned into the plains she could only assume were for her.

At age five she revealed that she felt deeply for her childhood friend Syn and became his mate for a short time. However she began to fear that the stag stalking her, the one she suspected killed her mother, would harm Syn(Hearts Don't Break Even) With a heavy heart she left Silverthorne for Blackwood and hoped it would rid her of her stalker. On the border she meets a Stag that is willing to welcome her to BW(Drunken Decisions). After sometime there she discovers she is pregnant, but the harsh environment of BW and the realization that her stalker may have followed her, lead to a miscarriage(Dark Decisions). By Summer Laika decides its time to go home and Hagen gives her a lovely gift(An End is just a Beginning). On the border she meets a rather arrogant stag who escorts her back to the herd(Attitude and Intuition). The two meet again and Ayden is a giant butt that makes Laika cry,(Can't Handle the Pain) good going derp! Soon after though Ayden gets his head on straight and makes things right, and new relationship blossoms between them(Cat and Mouse). That autumn Laika meets King Skuldafn and beings to think that being one of his does may stop her stalker, especially since she is now worried he might go after Ayden. He accepts her into that years harem and come spring has a beautiful little colt(The Love of a Mother).

This sadly doesn't stop her uneasy feelings about her stalker, but Ayden lets her feel calm and safe around him, even loved. Over the next year the two grow ever closer and the next rut Ayden fights for and wins her, that's when they first confess their feelings for each other and conceive a fawn. Laika begins to think her stalker has finally gone by the time her new colt is born. Time passes and her little ones grow up. Things became rickety with Ayden... Far too rickety. Eventually, she tore herself away from him, their love ruined by their clashing personalities and her own pig-headedness. In one moment of weakness she returned to Ayden, he accepted her, and she bore another fawn for him... She's been trying to avoid that stag since then, practically becoming a recluse at times.

Kindle:

Kindle was born to two purbred Silverthornes, honorable children of Grian. Her parents were delighted to see the filly's intense red coat, as bright as a flame itself. From day one they set into raising their daughter right. They made sure she knew all of the legends and tales of their gods, of all their laws and traditions. She was raised as any Silverthorne filly should be- traditionally. She was not taught her fire magic- that was something she developed on her own. Why would a doe need her magic? Her sole purpose in life was to provide five strong fawns to Silverthorne.

Surprisingly, Kindle was allowed to play with the dark fawns of the herd. However, this was only to teach her of how much different they were from the others- that the blood that coursed through their veins was much different from that as a true, golden offspring of Grian. Kindle couldn't see it, but it was the way she was raised and the way she eventually became. 

Kindle's first romantic affections were towards a dark colt, a brother of one of her friends. His name was Cassius and she had grown rather attached to him. She was quite young, far too young to know the true feelings of love... But she did know she loved the dark buck. However, when her parents discovered that their fiery red daughter had affections for a dark buck, they brought an immediate halt to it. Obviously allowing their precious daughter to play with the dark ones had been a bad idea that had only backfired. The filly was forced to cut ties with Cassius. Now that she's much older and able to think for herself, she still catches up with Cassius occasionally. Yes, he has a dark coat, but he was still her friend and was rapidly becoming a powerful soldier.

Kindle was only 6 when she became mated to a buck. She and the buck, the golden Lo'Sol, were good friends. Sparks had flown between them briefly, sparks that both if their parents seemed to pick up on. They came persistent in trying to hook the two up. They were convinced that they were perfect together, and eventually they caved and became a mated couple. Their love did grow, but it definitely was not what one would call true love.

Then things got complicated. They tried for their first fawn the rut of their union. But, nothing seemed to happen. When spring and summer rolled around all the other does were having fawns... But Kindle had nothing. The stag's seed had not took... So the next year they tried again. Still, the does got fatter and eventually had their babies: Kindle remained small and petite... She bore no fawn. The families grew desperate and Kindle even more saddened at the harsh reality that stood before her. She and Sol had grown tense with one another, the pressure of their families bearing down upon them. They tried one more time, in their third year together. Nothing. All ties snapped then as both Lo'Sol and his family decided that the doe couldn't do her job and produce fawns. It was over.

Heartbroken by the departure of her love and the fact that she continuously bore no fawns, Kindle fell into a rut. She was useless. She could produce babies for the herd. But surely there was something else she could do? She had no knowledge of magic... Firebringer could never work. She knew literally knowing about herbs. So that was a no-go. There was the option of scouts, but then she would always be on the run and what if she actually did manage to bear a fawn someday? The only choice was that of a soldier... 

She eventually came to meet Hephaistos. At first she was uncertain about the gray, untraditional stag but slowly began to grow fond of him. This fondness eventually turned into love and love into infatuation. The two decided to try for a fawn together and, to Kindle's immense happiness, her daughter was born. Due to this Kindle retired from the army, taking up herbalism and learning quickly. 

She decided that she wanted another fawn, then. She and Hephaistos mated once more and prepared for the little one that they would welcome in the spring... but all would not be the way that they hoped. When she gave birth it was all wrong.. At first it seemed that everything was going to be just fine. They welcomed a filly into the world... But then the filly's brother came. Everything went downhill from there. She lost blood fast, but managed to lay her eyes on both fawns. She said her last words to the gray stag that she loved and then passed on into Adhar's domain. She will forever watch over Hephaistos and their children. The Furnace and the Fireflies
