Snow... Snow everywhere. The forest was blanketed and carressed by the frozen water, its colors masked by that brilliant sheen of white. Icecicles dangled from treebranches, snow plopping off to the ground. All the animals' tracks were easily spotted within the deep snow- stealth was hard this time of year. However, some did not need stealth.

Kerras felt no reason to be sneaky. He was in his prime, he had nothing to fear. True many predators swarmed these dark woods, but few would take on a full-grown stag unless they were truly desperate. Kerras had no doubt that he could take on whatever was thrown at him. He'd fought with wolves, bears, cougars... He'd fought them all. His scars told the tales.

Today he intended to delve a little bit deeper into Glenmore. He'd been in the Ridgeback Range for quite a while now, mountains that belonged to neither Glenmore or Blackwood. Today, however, he intended to delve into the Glenwood. It was risky, true, but they needed does desperately. He was certain he'd be able to find some young lass to bring home. He was a skilled raider- he knew how to use his words. His tongue was as smooth as honey, he had no problems for the most part dealing with the foreign does.

But, he'd have to get through the Guards before he could win over the ladies. Kerras didn't worry about the Guards. Few were real threats to him.. Most of them were youngsters trying their best to look tough.. They wouldn't last two minutes in Blackwood, nevermind a whole night.

The black stag came to a halt, lifting his head and flaring his nostrils. No scent of Blackwood remained aside from the thin wisps that clung to his raggedy coat. The snow was melted much more rapidly here in Glenmore.. Kerras had noticed that as he made his journey down from the mountains that it was becoming less and less.. The elevation was lower here. He was in the prime of Glenmore.. Time to go a bit incognito. It wouldn't be too hard. Kerras was not a very tall stag like many of his Blackwood brethern, so that would work in his favor. The raggedy pelt and scars might cause suspicion, but that didn't matter. Movement out of the corner of his eye caught Kerras' attention and he turned in it's direction.

It was early spring now-though it was hard to tell due to the late snow- and soon fawns would spring forth, bringing in a wave of new life.... But, not in Blackwood. Few fawns were born each year and the majority of them colts at that.. Blackwood was dying.. and that's why Kerras was here.
Movement caught the stag's attention and he turned towards it. A doe moved soundlessly through the snow, picking her feet up with grace. She was pale-which Kerras found very dismaying- with spots dotting her shoulders and rump. She had a lovely reddish mane- even though it was pretty raggedy. What a shame she was so pale... But, he would approach her anyways. Perhaps if he could win her over she could tell her friends about him.. And perhaps those friends could get be dark.. The stag stood still for a moment. He could always turn and walk on if things looked as if they wouldn't work in his favor.

The dark stag started forwards towards the doe. She turned, stiffening as she spotted him. Her eyes became half-lidded with suspicion. My, she did have some long eyelashes. "Hello, there!" Kerras called out, moving towards her. "How are you tody, Missssss...." he trailed off, now noticing that the 'miss' had some scruff about her face and chest... and.. as he doubted himself and looked towards her hindquarters... Oh snap. Well this was awkward. His eyes went back to her-no, him. The feminine stag was staring at him with fury and then the words came tumbling out and the voice, indeed, was masculine. "I am, not a miss." the pale stag hissed. "State your business, sir, what are you doing this close to the outskirts of Glenmore?" Oh boy. A Guard.

Kerras smirked and then let out a loud bark of laughter, despite himself. Oh wow, this was priceless. "Oh, excuse me. You're so dainty and pale I mistook you for a doe! Maybe you should grow your beard out, dude." He didn't answer the Guard's question. The pale stag snorted loudly. "State your business, sir." he growled, unable to keep the anger out of his voice. Kerras snorted. "Just looking for some ladies, ya know. Us evil Blackwoods gotta get 'dem girls." Now it was on.

"Get out of our territory now, Blackwood scum!" he hissed, lunging forwards threateningly. "Oh my, the little girl-stag is going to kill me!" Kerras shrilled loudly, looking about desperately. "Someone, anyone, help!" he chuckled deeply, but before he had time to say anything else the Glenmore Guardsman had charged. Kerras was a bit surprised by the stag's speed and quickly found himself struggling to figure out which way to turn his bulk. The Guard's hooves and teeth dug through his coarse fur and into his skin, drawing blood. He clung to him like a stubborn insect and Kerras struggled to get him off. The stag craned his neck about, teeth sinking into the guard's hindquarts. How annoying, this pest. He whirled and lashed out now, his hooves meeting the pale one's sides with enough power to knock him over.

Now pleased with the fact that he'd knocked the little doe-stag down Kerras smirked, turning and bolting off. He was not here to fight, not today.

"Have a good day little doe-stag!"

I'm sorry I couldn't help myself ROFL. This is also a bit more uplifting than the last piece! XD. Shows Kerras has a little bit of humor.
